Part of Startup Institute's curriculum involves working with a partner company on a specific project. My partner project was with SessionM, a mobile-focused, loyalty marketing platform with all sorts of nifty capabilities ranging from audience management to campaign automation. My four-person group was tasked with redesigning the campaign management tool.
Graphical representations of data should maintain a correlative color scheme throughout the Performance dashboard. It was also important to keep some of the current elements to lessen any cognitive WTF-ness inevitably experienced by users whenever a major software update occurs. The Campaign Performance dashboard needed to express engagement results in a clear, visually-compelling manner that adeptly emphasized the effectiveness of the initiative. I thought segmented (three-quarter) circles paired with color-coordinating info blocks would provide a clear picture and necessary balance.
